HOW OUR GROUP CAME TO BE

Whilst being members of another discussion forum, two of us were horrified at the situation parents, both resident and non resident, and their families, find themselves in  when dealing with the Child Support Agency, which is part of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

Ironically, we are all to believe that the purpose of the CSA/CMEC is, to ensure the welfare of our children. Sadly in some of cases, this could not be further from the truth.

Agency non performance and actions have a detrimental effect on the very reasons the CSA /CMEC exists ~ our children.

In many cases non resident parents (NRP) acquire hefty arrears, not through being non compliant, but due to Agency delays and errors.

Also, many parents with care who do have genuine non compliant ex's or 'deadbeat dads', due to years of Agency neglect have failed to receive any Child Support.

In April 2008, 'afairercsaforall' was launched as a forum based support group for BOTH parents.

Despite poor 'search engine' rankings, in only 5 months the forum had a 376 strong and growing membership of PWC, NRP and their partners.

Since our launch, not only has membership grown, our dedicated team has also increased and we all give our time freely.

We firmly believe that a fairer Child Support (CS) system is needed for ALL ~ something which CSCS (CS1) and CS2 both failed to achieve. Unfortunately, the new Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (CMEC), also seems to be heading down the same route for failure.

OUR PURPOSE

'afairercsaforall' forum offers FREE impartial help, advice, support and general information to ALL parents involved with the CSA/CMEC, regardless of whether a case is on CS1 or CS2, on matters including; Maladministration, Delays, Mistakes,  Arrears, Phasing, Child Support Law, The Child Support Act, Enforcement Action ~ Liability Orders (LO), Deduction of Earnings Order (DEO), Bailiff Action and rules, requesting Data Protection Files (DPF) and how to complain. A variety of other topics including; Tax Credits and Bankruptcy are also covered.

There is also a Campaign Section ~ we are not extremists. However, if talking does not work and members choose to take direct action, as a group, we WILL go with the majority ~ together, unite for fair change!

FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE GOVERNMENT

Our group requires the UK Government to recognise that the current Child Support system is unfair and flawed on many levels. As a group, we are represented by PWC and NRP, all with a common cause. We are not  extreamists and will happily meet with CSA/CMEC representatives, Legislators and/or Law makers to discuss the systems flaws, in an attempt to quite simply achieve a fair, balanced system for ALL parents and more importantly ALL children caught up in the trauma of relationship breakdown.

MP's EXPENSES

Recent revelations over the past few weeks, establish why the House of Commons opposed the disclosure of details pertaining to MP's expense claims, and why they fought long and hard to prevent such. 
Simple greed, desire and creative accountancy from those concerned, who are in a trusted, privileged position, that have manipulated their expenses claims, funded by the British taxpayer. In the present financial climate, when their constituents are suffering financially, there is little wonder why such revelations leave the taxpayer, the unemployed, the elderly, etc, with such a foul taste in their mouth. 

Earning a basic salary of approx £65,000 pa, and in the position to vote themselves a pay rise,  MP's can also claim 'Additional Costs Allowance' (a flexible set of rules designed by themselves), which states expenses should be 'reasonable' and ‘wholly, exclusively and necessarily’ a cost of their role as an MP. 
Reported 'expense claims' range from an 88p bath plug - £118,000 for expenses at a second home, including stereo equipment, extensive redecoration and a pair of Kenyan carpets - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/n...nvestigated-by-the-Telegraph.html the link shows thousand of pounds of tax payers money being spent improving 'properties', when sold not only have the profits been retained by the MP concerned, they have escaped paying Capital Gains Tax.   

Remarks made by MP's and Ministers such as "discrepancies were clerical errors", "'within the rules", "The system is flawed. it needs changing" - Sadly for years, these comments echo our own, and that we are victims of the same, Taxpayers, Pensioners, the unemployed and Parents, alike. 

'afairercsaforall' are gravely concerned that some of our members, who are compliant, due to CSA/CMEC maladminstration, errors and delays, find themselves with accrued arrears, owed to Secretary of State, which are being collected at 30-40% of their nett income, regardless of whether they can afford to live. In some cases parallel enforcement action and Bailiffs are also employed to remove their belongings.
